We are looking to strengthen our Technical Design team with a Technical Manager - Water based at Falmer near Brighton with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Head of Technical Management and you will be responsible for programme level technical governance on water projects from initial definition of need through optioneering, solution development, detail design and construction support.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. To provide technical assurance across teams of design mangers and discipline design engineers in the development of water technical solutions from initial need statement through optioneering, solution development, value engineering, detail design and construction support.
2. Ensure affordable design solutions are developed within project budget and solution risk is appropriately managed and communicated throughout the solution development process.
3. Establish collaborative working relationships with the client, design teams, construction staff and supply chain representatives to promote buildability and supply chain efficiency in design outputs.
4. Ensure sustainable design solutions are completed in accordance with CDM Regulations.
5. Ensure design solutions meet all the requirements of the programme’s systems and governance procedures.
6. Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations.
7. Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
8. Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.
