Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Installation Engineer to join our team, working on social housing contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of door entry, door access, and CCTV systems across a range of social housing properties within tight deadlines and in line with project specifications.
What You'll Be Doing:
Installation & Setup: Install a range of safety and security systems in residential buildings including, but not limited to door entry, door access, CCTV and warden call systems.
Testing & Commissioning: Ensure systems are fully tested, configured, and commissioned to meet safety and functionality standards.
Fault Finding & Repairs: Diagnose and rectify system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants and property management teams.
Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
Documentation & Reporting: Complete and maintain accurate installation records, service reports, and health & safety documentation.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with tenants, site managers, and property managers throughout the installation process.
Training & Support: Provide on-site training to clients or tenants where necessary to ensure full system operation and user understanding.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the installation team, supervisors, and project managers to meet project deadlines and customer expectations.
Travel & Workload: To be flexible within the weekly workload and the ability to work overtime when required. Able to travel across the UK with some overnight stops.
What You'll Bring:
Experience: Proven experience in installing safety and security systems (minimum of 5 years preferred).
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electronic security systems, including Videx, Intratone, Paxton, PAC & Tynetec.
Qualifications: Relevant electrical or security system qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or similar).
IT Skills: Familiarity with networking and IT systems related to security installations.
Health & Safety: Knowledge of current health and safety practices and regulations in the construction and security industry.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions quickly.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers.
Driving License: A full driving license is required for travel between sites.
An CSCS card (or equivalent) is desirable.
