We are looking for dynamic, passionate Senior Healthcare Assistants to join the team on Children’s Outpatients and other wards across Child Health.
You will work closely with the nursing and multidisciplinary team to provide care and support to children accessing services at Variety Children’s Hospital.
You will work with various specialties across child health to assist in delivering procedures and treatments.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you will:
* Assist under supervision with the delivery of fundamental nursing care in liaison with nursing and multidisciplinary team.
* Assist with clinical duties to ensure effective department or ward operation.
* Monitor and record patients' clinical observations and escalate as required.
* Ensure the ward/department is appropriately stocked at all times.
* Undertake clinical skills such as ECGs, venepuncture, Nasogastric tube feeding.
* Complete point of care testing such as HbA1c, blood glucose testing.
* Assist families and carers, including escorting to other departments and orienting to the ward/department.
* Assist with administrative tasks within the ward/department to ensure effective care delivery.
* Maintain infection control, hygiene, and cleanliness.
* Develop additional skills through further training provided by the team.
