The reception team are often the first people visitors speak to when they arrive, so they play an important role in making visitors feel welcome and reassured. In this role, activities will usually include:
1. Meeting and greeting patients, families, visitors, and staff
2. Keeping the reception area tidy, clean, and free from clutter
3. Offering to escort patients, families, and visitors to the right room
4. Walking patients to the waiting room and making them a tea/coffee
5. Providing information on local amenities like public transport and shops
6. Answering general questions about the hospice
7. Reporting incidents to the main reception desk
