Hi there,
This is Jonathan, founder of The Thrifty Gentleman, a UK-based ecommerce business specialising in stylish, high-quality watch straps at affordable prices.
We're at an exciting growth point and, because of this, I'm looking for an experienced e-commerce mentor / advisor to support me through the next stage of our journey.
The business has reached a point where, if we don't invest in specialist ecommerce knowledge and expertise, our growth probably won't accelerate as quickly as I believe it can.
So, what am I looking for?
Ultimately, I'm looking for someone who can support me with key ecommerce strategy questions but also proactively challenge my thinking and help uncover new growth opportunities.
You'll be available for around 2 hours per week on an ongoing basis. I see this as a flexible engagement - roughly half the time will be me bringing questions for clarity (see examples below), and the other half will be you introducing new ideas or opportunities for us to explore together.
Example topics
* Structuring and optimising our existing Google Ads campaigns
* Setting up Meta Ads for success - what media recommendations to start with and how best to analyse, test, and optimise
* Website redevelopment and CRO (including upsells, cross-sells, bundling, etc.)
* Email marketing - especially campaign cadence and content strategy
(There are other topics too, but this gives a good sense of the variety and direction.)
Who would be the ideal candidate?
This opportunity would be ideal for someone who has successfully built and grown their own ecommerce business and now wants to use that experience to mentor and advise others in a practical, hands-on way.
We're at a really exciting stage having grown significantly over the last six months and I'm looking for someone who genuinely enjoys supporting small business owners and seeing the tangible impact of their advice and expertise.
You'll also be UK-based, so we can align easily on strategy calls and you'll bring an understanding of the local market.
Who's not the ideal candidate?
If you haven't run your own ecommerce business before, or if you specialise in only one or two of the topics above, this probably isn't the right fit.
This isn't a narrow consultancy project. It's a broader partnership across multiple areas of ecommerce growth, so a generalist mentor profile will be most suitable hence why somebody who has run their own ecommerce business and understands the nuances would be perfect.
If this sounds exciting, and you feel you could truly partner with me to help The Thrifty Gentleman scale to the next level, I'd love to hear from you
Thanks for reading and i'm looking forward to connecting.
Jonathan
