Service Charge Accountant
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Location: West End, London
Hybrid: 3 days per week in the office
The Client:
A prestigious Central London Property Investment and Development company, is seeking a Service Charge Accountant to join their team. This company, known for its exceptional performance in the real estate market, offers a dynamic work environment and a range of exciting opportunities for professional growth.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Managing Charges on Account: Collaborating with the Customer Experience Manager to ensure timely demand for 25% of the anticipated annual budget each quarter.
2. Reviewing Purchase Invoices: Examining invoices related to service charges and ensuring accuracy.
3. Establishing Best Practices: Calculating management charge structures in collaboration with Portfolio Managers.
4. Budgeting: Generating realistic service charge budgets before the start of each year, coordinating input from various stakeholders.
5. Balancing Charges: Overseeing auditing of service charge accounts, calculating balancing amounts, and preparing balance of service schedules at the end of each service charge year.
6. Ensuring Readiness for Sale: Keeping all service charge accounts up to date to facilitate provision to prospective purchasers.
7. Upholding Corporate Responsibility: Ensuring adherence to the company's values and objectives within the scope of service charge responsibilities.
8. Performing Other General Duties: Assisting with audits, managing the service charge tracker, reconciling utility nominal codes, and providing support to the Service Charge Manager and the wider team on ad hoc tasks.
Requirements:
9. Minimum 2 years of service charge experience, preferably within the Property sector.
10. Need Commercial property experience.
11. Strong relationship-building skills.
12. Attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively.
13. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
14. Quick learner with a proactive approach to new responsibilities.
15. Ability to interact effectively at all levels.
16. Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
17. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting systems.
