Responsibilities
As a Senior CAD Designer, youll take ownership of projects from concept to completion, ensuring every detail is meticulously planned and executed. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Conducting dimensional site surveys across the UK and Europe.
* Attending design meetings (on:site and online) to collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
* Producing general arrangement (GA) drawings, detailed manufacturing drawings, and installation plans.
* Coordinating designs with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Creating as:built drawings post:installation.
* Mentoring and coaching junior and mid:level colleagues, fostering a culture of growth and innovation.
* Driving continuous improvement in design processes and product development.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, youll need:
* Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with sheet metal or structural steel fabrication.
* Expertise in 2D AutoCAD (knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and/or Revit is a plus).
* A solid understanding of installation best practices.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional demeanor.
* A full driving license and passport, with a willingness to travel occasionally.
* A proactive mindset and a passion for delivering high:quality work.
Day:to:Day
Your typical day might include:
* Visiting a client site to conduct a detailed survey, ensuring all measurements and specifications are accurate.
* Collaborating with the design team to create innovative solutions for complex acoustic challenges.
* Drafting precise manufacturing drawings that balance functionality, cost:efficiency, and manufacturability.
* Attending a virtual design meeting with stakeholders to align on project goals and timelines.
* Mentoring a junior designer, sharing your expertise to help them grow in their role.
* Reviewing and refining designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
