We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our Rights Revenue team at our office in Frating, Essex.
The Rights Revenue team within the Royalty Department manages royalty sales information and income from our Rights Customers, where PRH has sold rights to books, extracts, or permissions for merchandising.
The team ensures that the financial clauses in customer contracts are accurately reflected in our accounting system and follows up on any missing or inaccurate royalty data.
The team comprises 14 members, including 11 Administrators, 2 Team Leaders, and an Audit Analyst.
The Manager is responsible for overseeing all tasks within the Rights Revenue area, ensuring accuracy and efficiency to meet targets and deadlines, as well as managing cash reconciliations, reporting KPIs, and maintaining stakeholder relationships, including internal departments, Rights Customers, Agents, and Authors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Rights Processing
o Develop expertise in rights sales contracts, statement and income processing, and credit control.
o Collaborate with team leaders to ensure process accuracy and efficiency, reviewing workload and KPIs.
o Engage with stakeholders to deliver excellent service and drive improvements.
o Participate in meetings with Rights Sales colleagues and Credit Services.
o Generate and distribute KPIs for business reporting.
o Maintain process documentation and ensure adequate team coverage.
o Coordinate with Royalty Managers to ensure accurate rights income reporting.
o Reconcile incoming rights cash daily and investigate discrepancies.
o Review outstanding cash and statements with Team Leaders for query resolution.
o Monitor tax/write-off exception reports.
o Support Rights Audit Analyst with audits, data issues, and customer queries, and approve final audit reports.
2. Staff Management
o Coordinate with the senior royalty team to foster department cohesion, morale, and staff development.
o Lead change management initiatives.
o Assist and cover for Team Leaders during busy periods.
o Conduct performance reviews and organize training and development.
o Manage absence, performance, and welfare meetings.
o Facilitate team meetings and oversee administrative tasks like holiday bookings.
3. Process and Procedure Improvement
o Enhance communication within the department and with other departments.
o Identify and implement improvements in working practices and systems.
o Participate in departmental and company initiatives and projects.
Experience and Personal Characteristics:
* Proven leadership experience in an accounting environment, with a track record of high service levels and continuous improvement.
* Accounting qualification preferred but not essential if compensated by experience.
* Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
* High accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to identify errors.
* Proactive in improving work practices and systems, comfortable challenging the status quo.
* Strong prioritization skills to meet deadlines and targets.

Salary and Benefits:
