Job Description
We’re working in partnership with a number of well-run, inclusive secondary schools across Oldham who are looking to appoint committed and experienced SEN Support staff on a full-time, part-time and permanent basis. These roles are ideal for Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and Behaviour Mentors who are passionate about making a difference to young people with additional needs and are looking for their next long-term opportunity in a supportive school environment.
You’ll be joining schools that place a real emphasis on inclusion, with strong leadership teams and clear behaviour policies already in place. The roles involve supporting students across KS3 and KS4 with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties. Depending on the position, you may be working 1:1, in small intervention groups, or providing in-class support to help pupils access the curriculum, stay engaged and build confidence both academically and socially.
We’re particularly keen to hear from candidates who have previous experience working within SEN settings, alternative provisions or mainstream schools supporting pupils with additional needs. Strong communication skills, resilience and the ability to build positive relationships quickly are key. Schools are open to considering candidates who are looking for full-time or part-time hours, and there are also permanent opportunities available for the right individuals who are looking for stability and career progression within education.
These roles offer a great chance to be part of a dedicated SEN team, with ongoing CPD, support from experienced SENCOs and the opportunity to make a genuine impact on students’ day-to-day school life. Whether you’re an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or looking to build a long-term career in education, there are opportunities here to suit different levels of experience.
Positions are available immediately as well as for upcoming terms, and schools are keen to move quickly with the right candidates. Competitive daily rates are on offer, with the potential to secure permanent contracts directly with schools.
If you’re based in Oldham or able to travel into the area and are looking for SEN jobs, Teaching Assistant roles, Learning Support Assistant positions or Behaviour Mentor work within a secondary school setting, I’d be very interested in speaking with you. Apply now by sending over an up-to-date CV
