Please note this is not a Swansea city council job. You will be working with a private client who received direct payments. A little about myself: I am a young man living at home with my parents in Langland. I have ME (also known as CFS or chronic fatigue syndrome) which severely effects my daily living. At present I am bedbound all day and need help with eating and drinking and moving from room to room in a wheelchair. Driver required. Female Preferred. Hours of work Will vary, but initially 2 hours per day. You will need to be able to do full days when required by agreement. This could be at weekends. Rate of pay. £13.13 Essential: I need you to help with: • Getting from room to room, mainly to go to the toilet, in a wheelchair. • Eating and drinking (I need to be fed at the moment) • Be adaptable and help as required as my condition changes The role could also involve the following tasks: • Preparing food • Getting shopping • Do anything else to help me in the house, including helping my parents • Other needs that develop as my condition changes Desirable I’d prefer if: • You were female. • You have previous experience. • You speak Welsh. I will need my PA to: Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality. Be confident, mature and have patience. Be dependable and arrive on time. Be friendly with an easy-going manner. Be adaptable and flexible. Be supportive but not take over. Be cheerful Support my recovery. Concerning the position A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a three-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
