Air Conditioning Engineer (Service) – Dudley, West Midlands, United Kingdom
Responsibilities
* Servicing, fault‑finding and maintenance of air conditioning systems within commercial, education and retail premises.
* Attend service and reactive breakdowns to fault‑find, diagnose and repair in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
* Use air‑conditioning fault‑finding experience to provide high levels of first‑time fix and customer care.
* Carry out responsive maintenance, service and repairs as instructed.
* Carry out servicing and safety checks on all air‑con systems.
* Make immediate decisions regarding repair requirements and inform the relevant director.
* Communicate with customers if repairs cannot be completed on the first visit and arrange return visits.
* Direct helpers in assembly or installation of air‑con systems or components.
* Liaise with management and/or client to ensure works are completed.
* Ensure all works and repairs are completed safely and in accordance with codes and practices.
* Adhere to client rules while on site.
* Purchase materials cost‑effectively.
* Complete all relevant documentation promptly.
* Use company vehicle, tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
* Conduct site audits, vehicle audits, post‑work inspections, quotations and engineer meetings.
* Hours: Monday to Friday (with flexibility for emergency call‑outs and occasional overtime).
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Mobile role, travelling to multiple sites.
Person Specification / Requirements
* Recognised air conditioning apprenticeship.
* Commercial air conditioning experience (fault‑finding, service, repair, maintenance).
* Working knowledge of test equipment including electrical multimeter.
* Flexible approach and willingness to be part of emergency call‑out rota.
* Enhanced DBS required due to nature of work.
Pay/Benefits
* £35,000 – £45,000 per annum
