Contract: Full-time / Long-term
Weekly Pay: £462.80 – £527.80 per week (based on 5 days worked, dependent on experience)

About the Role
As a Learning Support Worker in Cwmbran, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and specialist staff to support pupils aged 3–19 with a range of additional learning needs, including:
1. Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
2. ADHD
3. Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
4. Speech and Language Difficulties
5. Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
6. Complex Learning Difficulties
You will play an important role in helping pupils develop academically, socially, emotionally, and independently within a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
The role may also involve supporting pupils with sensory needs, communication difficulties, mobility needs, and personal care routines where required.
Key Responsibilities
7. Provide one-to-one and small-group learning support
8. Support pupils with special educational needs and additional learning needs
9. Assist teachers with classroom activities and behaviour support strategies
10. Encourage independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
11. Follow individual education plans (IEPs) and safeguarding procedures
12. Support pupils with personal care where required
13. Build positive and trusting relationships with learners
14. Support pupils with communication and sensory regulation strategies
Requirements
15. Experience working with children or young people with additional learning needs is desirable
16. Experience supporting pupils with PMLD, autism, or complex needs is advantageous
17. A patient, caring, and resilient approach
18. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
19. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
20. Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
21. Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, Learning Support, SEN, Health and Social Care, or equivalent are advantageous
