We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Aviation Safety Manager to join our Safety Team based at Farnborough. This is an exciting and varied role that will be overseeing the Flight Safety components of the Safety Management System (SMS) across all of our UK based sites and unique contract operations, including Business Aviation, Air Ambulance, Rotary Operations and more Reporting to the Head of Safety, the successful individual will be an aviation safety practitioner, with a good understanding and experience of safety in aviation.
The Safety Manager has one direct report and works in collaboration with the Health & Safety Manager as well as the wider Safety Department, to deliver an effective SMS including the ongoing development, administration and overall maintenance.

/ Responsibilities:
* Facilitate hazard identification, risk analysis and management
* Monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks, as listed in the Safety Action Plan
* Provide periodic reports on safety performance
* Ensure maintenance of safety management documentation
* Ensure that there is safety management training available and that it meets acceptable standards
* Provide advice on safety matters
* Ensure initiation and follow-up of internal occurrence/accident investigations
/ Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
Essential
* Recognised SMS Training Course/Qualification
* Recognised Risk Management Course/Qualification
* Previous experience in an Aviation Safety role
* Previous experience in Aviation SMS and Risk Management
* Highly Proficient in IT (must be able to use Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
* Excellent verbal and written communication (must be able to confidently present and write high quality reports)
* Excellent leadership and management skills
* Confidence/Presence
* Able to work in a team
* Travel is required to other UK sites on a regular basis
Advantageous
* Previously accepted by the UK CAA as the Nominated Person for Safety
* Safety Investigator Course
* Previously worked as an Aviation Safety Manager
* Previously employed as a pilot or in Flight Operations
* Previous experience in the use of iQSMS and SharePoint
* Has previously submitted MORs via ECCAIRS
* Has previous experience in Flight Data Monitoring (FDM)
