Semi Senior Accountant / Accounts Assistant – Nationally Ranked Firm of Accountants, Bournemouth
Hybrid Working (minimum 2 days per week in the office) | Full Time (35 hours per week)
A well-established nationally ranked accountancy firm is looking to appoint a Semi Senior Accountant / Accounts Assistant to join its growing Accounts team in Bournemouth. This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part-qualified accountant who is keen to develop their technical, advisory, and client-facing skills within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Role
This is a client-facing, fast-paced role with exposure to advisory work and a varied portfolio of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, LLPs, trusts and smaller private charities. You will be involved in everything from year-end compliance to ad-hoc project and advisory work, often for high-profile clients.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparation of year-end financial statements
* Ownership of ad-hoc advisory and project work
* Reviewing work prepared by junior team members
* Work planning and annual timetabling
* Billing and financial management
* Cross-department collaboration
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Experience using accounts production software (e.g. CCH or similar) is required.
The role is based from the Bournemouth office, with hybrid working available (minimum two days per week in the office).

You’ll be part of a well-resourced Accounts team of around 15 people, ranging from trainees to Director level, working closely with Partners and colleagues across the wider firm. About You
* AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA
* Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
* Strong numeracy and analytical skills
* Confident using Excel and Word
* Well organised, proactive and able to manage multiple deadlines
* Comfortable working in a client-facing, pressurised environment
* Professional communicator with a positive, team-focused attitude
* High attention to detail and strong time management skills
