Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. This is a permanent, full time position.
The shift pattern for this position is 4 week rolling shifts pattern: Monday-Friday hours 9am-5pm.
NHSGGC has a vacancy for an Information Governance Officer to work in a fast paced, high demand role within the Information Governance team.
Reporting to the Information Governance Lead, the post holder will contribute to the planning, managing and delivery of programmes as part of the Information Governance and wider eHealth Strategy. Key aspects of the role include advising on UKGDPR obligations and associated action plans, providing specialist support, advice and expertise on all aspects of information governance, including records management, data protection, Caldicott and data quality. This will include staff training, responding to subject access requests, ensuring robust document control is in place and assuring the quality of content held on the IG Knowledge Hub Staff SharePoint Site.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Data Protection legislation including UKGDPR and The Data Protection Act 2018 along with associated obligations and data subject rights. Knowledge of Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, the Public Records Scotland Act 2011 and the Caldicott principles would be advantageous.
Applicants should have excellent organisational and people skills, possess a high standard of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and pay attention to detail. You should be proficient in the use of Microsoft M365 applications and be able to handle sensitive information discreetly and in confidence. You should also be able to work on your own initiative, balanced with being a supportive and collaborative team member.
