General Cover Teaching Assistant
Location: Rainhill, Prescot (L35)
Start Date: End of February 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Pay: £13.75 – £15.00 per hour
The Role
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a thriving and welcoming primary school in Rainhill who are seeking a confident, friendly, and passionate Teaching Assistant to provide general classroom support across KS2.
This role is ideal for someone who is flexible, proactive, and eager to make a meaningful difference to children’s learning. It offers a fantastic opportunity to develop new skills and further your professional experience within a supportive school community.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide in‑class support for KS2 pupils, offering additional help where needed
* Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour management
* Implement effective strategies to boost engagement and maintain focus

* Communicate effectively with teachers, colleagues, and wider school staff

What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with children or transferable skills from a similar role
* Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
* Commitment to supporting every pupil and promoting their wellbeing
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Patience, empathy, and strong behaviour‑management skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
