An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The position entails overseeing credit-related activities such as risk management, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team,
* Possess strong financial understanding,
* Be capable of problem-solving,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Possess excellent communication skills, as the role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading contact with our Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims promptly, and assisting in renewal negotiations,
* Organising and leading monthly meetings with senior management,
* Providing management information to the senior team on debts, debtor days, collections, and ad-hoc reports,
* Managing cash collection for all Group companies,
* Ensuring departmental systems and protocols are efficient and adhered to,
* Overseeing the Credit Control Department and managing the team proactively,
* Processing all group credit applications and PODs,
* Making major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Controlling credit limits,
* Managing litigation, insolvency practitioners, and pursuing claims,
* Setting credit policies to meet goals and managing credit notes,
* Assessing risks for existing accounts and new credit applicants,
* Maintaining strong relationships with Credit Control, senior management, and other departments,
* Reviewing sales Terms and Conditions before approval,
* Visiting customers and company sites as needed.
