Weekend Site Assistant / Caretaker (Part-Time)
Hours: 9 hours per week
Days: Saturday & Sunday
Time: 9:00am – 1:30pm
The Royal Harbour Academy is seeking to appoint a vibrant, enthusiastic, and reliable Site Assistant who shares our belief that every child and young person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential in a safe and supportive learning environment.
This is a key role within the school, supporting the smooth running, safety, and presentation of our site during weekends and look after the school lettings.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
1. Site security and safety, including acting as a key holder (locking and unlocking the premises)
2. General property and site maintenance, including minor repairs and redecoration
3. Ensuring high standards of cleanliness across the site
4. Grounds maintenance
5. Supporting school lettings
6. Compliance duties, including fire alarm testing and water temperature checks
7. Setting up examination desks when required
8. Maintaining accurate Health & Safety and compliance records
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will:
9. Be physically fit, as the role involves moving furniture
10. Possess good DIY and maintenance skills
11. Have knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
12. Demonstrate basic IT skills
13. Have an understanding of safeguarding and child protection
14. Take pride in maintaining the school site to a very high standard, both internally and externally
Training & Development
