You will ensure Health Records are available for direct and indirect patient care within agreed timescales and deadlines. Alongside this, you will ensure all Health Records are processed in accordance with local policies and procedures including scanning, preparing, tracking, tidying, filing, and manoeuvring of health records.
You will also be required to locate health records and deliver health records across the local hospital site as required.
The Health Records Team Leader will be responsible for the management and coordination of the Health Records Assistants' rota, annual leave, training, and management of absence.
Main duties of the job
1. Liaise with colleagues and Health Records Site Managers, as appropriate, to ensure duties are completed, and issues and concerns are raised.
2. Take part in departmental team meetings to discuss and agree on local policy and share information and ideas as required.
3. Problem-solve and respond to queries regarding specific administrative functions within the Health Records Team, including locating missing information.
4. Collect daily productivity information to assist managers in producing site-based performance monitoring and management reports.
5. Provide basic advice and guidance to patients and relatives on the correct processes to follow regarding health records related issues and provide non-clinical advice to patients/carers around the site.
6. Ensure the accurate recording of teams' working hours on Health Roster and approve time sheets for staff where necessary.
7. Demonstrate good attention to detail to deliver a high degree of accuracy in all aspects of this role to ensure the correct information is accessed, recorded, and delivered.
8. Have a good understanding and knowledge of a range of IT systems such as Medway/Lorenzo to undertake the role (e.g., tracking, pulling clinic details).

Person Specification
* NVQ Level 4 or equivalent NHS experience
* Health Records Experience
* Ability to work with and support a range of staff
* Knowledge of Medway/Lorenzo, Acute Care Portal, and other Trust computer systems
* Understanding of confidentiality and implications of noncompliance
