Role Description
As a Technician, you will be primarily responsible for providing Technician support to Lecturing/Assessing staff. The post holder may also be required to provide support to staff and resources across all campuses when required throughout the School and College as required.
This role is part time, term time only and a fixed term contract.
Job share will be considered.
Key Duties
• Be responsible for equipment maintenance, stock control, equipment loans and general upkeep of the workshop.
• To facilitate a smooth and efficient educational and assessment experience for students and candidates.
Prepare for assessment
• Undertake first-line maintenance on a range of tools and equipment.
Prepare resources and equipment, as directed, for use by students and lectures.
• Assist in the creation and photocopying of teaching, learning and assessment resources. Co-operate and liaise with colleagues within the campus and across College.
Demonstrate to and supervise students in the use of equipment as agreed by line manager.
• Carry out technician duties within the guidelines of the College Policy Statement on Health & Safety Regulations, taking full responsibility for ensuring the Health & Safety of students under his/her supervision
Assist in conducting risk assessments within the working area
• Assist in those issues relating to the maintenance of high standards of student behaviour throughout the College, as is seen necessary by the line manager.
• Participate fully in staff development programmes and performance appraisal schemes as appropriate.
• Work in a flexible manner to meet the changing requirements of Further and Higher Education.
