The Company
This ambitious business prides itself on its delicious range of chilled and frozen products, supplying retail and food service customers across the UK, Europe, and globally. Growing rapidly, they are looking to expand their talented NPD team with a Senior Product Developer.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll join a small NPD team and be responsible for the end-to-end development of innovative new food products, ensuring each concept aligns with product briefs and market insights.
This broad role involves working with the overseas R&D team to turn customer briefs into viable production-ready products. You’ll manage all stages of the product lifecycle, oversee project critical paths, and collaborate with technical, operations, and procurement teams to ensure quality, innovation, and compliance.
You’ll also handle packaging improvements, artwork sign-offs, and post-launch reviews. Building strong customer relationships to understand project goals and translate them into on-trend, timely concepts is key.
The Candidate
We seek an ambitious, creative, and capable Product Developer eager to advance within a growing business. Experience in chilled or frozen categories, whether branded or retail own-brand, is preferred. A food-related degree is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills are essential, as you’ll interact with retailers and manage projects with international teams to launch products successfully and swiftly.
You should have strong organizational skills, enthusiasm for learning, and the ability to quickly adapt to new projects.
An in-depth understanding of food trends, ingredients, and seasonality is important for recipe development and innovation.
This role involves frequent travel across the UK, EU, and Southeast Asia.
