Wood is recruiting for a Noise Consultant to join the growing acoustics team, based in Glasgow. This is a varied role which will allow you to apply your acoustics experience or enhance your skills and continue to develop your career; offering good opportunities within a dynamic consultancy involved in the entire project lifecycle.
The Noise Consultant will contribute to business growth and undertake technical project work. This role is based in Glasgow with hybrid working and reports to the Noise and Vibration Team Lead.
The Role
* Noise calculation, prediction, and assessment
* Conducting noise and vibration measurement surveys
* Processing data and preparing noise input for environmental impact assessments
* Reviewing technical reports
* Communicating with clients, authorities, and stakeholders
* Business development and project management
* Travel for site work may be required
Qualifications
Required:
* Degree in acoustics/engineering or related field
* Problem-solving and analytical skills
* Technical report writing ability
* Effective time and resource management
* Teamwork skills
* Full UK driving license
Desirable:
* IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control
* Knowledge of UK noise policies and standards
* Experience with acoustic modelling software (e.g., SoundPLAN, CadnA)
* Experience in noise/vibration measurement and analysis
* GIS software skills
* Coding skills (Python, MATLAB)
* Memberships like AMIOA, MIOA, or CEng
