Education Psychologist – Autism Anglia and Doucecroft School, Colchester
Location: Doucecroft School, Eight Ash Green, Colchester, CO6
Salary: £50-60,000 per annum (pro rata, term-time only, plus additional training days)
Hours: 38.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year (term time only) plus 3 training days during school holidays
What The Role Involves
- Provide strategic leadership and clinical oversight of therapeutic services, ensuring evidence‑based, outcome‑focused delivery.
- Lead and develop an integrated model of therapeutic support across education, care, and health contexts.
- Deliver supervision, consultation, and professional guidance to therapy staff, promoting high standards of practice.
- Lead comprehensive psychological assessments and produce high‑quality reports with clear, evidence‑based recommendations.
- Design, implement, and evaluate therapeutic and behaviour support programmes for individuals and groups.
- Contribute to EHCP processes, statutory assessments, and multidisciplinary reviews to support effective provision.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to embed therapeutic approaches and improve outcomes.
- Drive service development, training, and capacity building, promoting understanding of psychological wellbeing, neurodiversity, and trauma‑informed practice.
What We’re Looking For
- Doctorate in Educational Psychology
- Registered with HCPC
- Experience of working with learners with autism or learning disabilities (highly advantageous)
- Experience delivering psychological assessments and interventions
- A valid driving licence (desirable)
