About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented finance professional to join our Global Markets team as a Business Finance Controller. This high-impact role blends financial reporting, valuation oversight, and strategic balance sheet management across a broad spectrum of trading products.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver daily P&L, risk attribution, and balance sheet control for trading desks.
* Reconcile front‑and back‑office systems to ensure ledger accuracy and financial integrity.
* Lead monthly balance sheet substantiation and monitor key metrics such as inventory ageing and funding usage.
* Review and challenge front-office valuation methodologies and inputs.
* Partner with Trading, Risk, Treasury, and Operations to resolve issues and optimise capital and liquidity.
* Perform Independent Price Verification (IPV) across multiple asset classes and challenge front‑office valuations.
* Prepare valuation reserves and fair value hierarchy disclosures.
* Develop and apply valuation adjustments, reserves, and fair value disclosures.
* Calculate and report AVAs in line with CRR and EBA prudent valuation standards.
* Support governance forums, audits, and regulatory engagements, maintaining robust documentation and controls.
What We’re Looking For
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
* Professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred or in progress.
* Strong understanding of financial instruments, valuation techniques, and accounting principles.
* Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems/tools.
* Experience with valuation control frameworks and IPV processes.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
