We’re looking for a Senior Account Manager to join our growing digital marketing agency. If you’ve got at least 3 years’ agency or freelance experience and you’re confident juggling multiple projects, managing client relationships, and delivering high-quality marketing work – this could be for you.
This is a senior role. You’ll be the go-to for a wide range of clients – from startups to multi-million-pound companies – managing everything from strategy and communication to delivery and reporting. You’ll lead the internal workflow too, making sure the right people are focused on the right tasks at the right time, as well as getting your hands dirty and working on projects yourself. It’s varied, fast-paced, and ideal for someone who enjoys both autonomy and accountability.
This is a remote-first role. We get together monthly in Exeter, and many of our clients are based in the South West. The majority of our team are based in Taunton, Exeter and Lyme Regis - so our perfect candidate is somewhere in that locality too - but we’re open to applications from elsewhere in the UK.
You Should Apply If:
* You’ve got 3+ years’ experience in digital marketing (agency or freelance)
* You’ve managed client accounts and know how to build strong relationships
* You’re confident leading calls, Zoom meetings and in-person visits
* You’ve got a broad understanding of digital marketing – SEO, PPC, content, email, web, social – and can hold your own talking about all of it
* You like solving problems, spotting opportunities, and thinking strategically
* You take ownership, manage your own time well, and know how to prioritise when everything feels important
* You’re comfortable giving direction to others and managing workflows
* You value working with people who think for themselves – and you challenge assumptions when needed
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Leading day-to-day client communication: emails, Zooms, phone calls, meetings and progress updates
* Planning and executing digital marketing strategies across multiple channels
* Getting stuck in: writing content, editing web pages, creating email campaigns, checking analytics and spotting problems before they become problems
* Managing internal team workflow – assigning tasks, tracking progress, flagging issues
* Challenging client and internal thinking when something feels off – we’re not looking for someone who just nods along
* Keeping a close eye on performance and impact – always asking “Is this moving the needle?”
* Understanding each client’s business, not just their marketing plan – so we can do work that actually helps
* Working with clients across sectors – from architects to accountants, with a strong focus on hospitality, food and drink
* Contributing to Sonder’s own marketing too – helping shape campaigns, write content and spot opportunities
* Meeting with the team monthly in Exeter (expenses covered) and visiting local clients where useful
Who This Role Isn’t Right For:
* If you prefer working on one project for days at a time without interruption – this won’t be the right pace for you
* If you shy away from Zoom calls, phone calls, or in-person client meetings – you’ll find this difficult
* If you’re not comfortable leading and managing others – you’ll struggle to keep projects moving and clients happy
* If you like to be told exactly what to do – this role needs initiative and independent thinking
What You Get:
* Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 depending on experience
* Holiday: 21 days + Bank Holidays + Christmas and New Year shutdown + your birthday off
* Equipment: Company laptop, all required office equipment, plus an annual home office budget
* Learning: Continued learning and development support
* Family: Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
* Flexibility: Flexible hours, remote working
* Culture: Monthly meetups, quarterly team outings and socials, summer party, Christmas party, lunches out – we work hard at being nice people and creating a place where people feel supported and valued
