Overview
The Fracture Clinic is looking for a Band 5 staff Nurse on a 12 month temporary contract to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate would need to be flexible and able to work various days Monday - Friday. 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Assess injuries, apply splints and boots, change dressings and manage wound care.
* Educate patients and support the clinician in clinics.
* Work collaboratively with the multi-professional team to meet patient needs in the Trauma and Elective Fracture Clinic.
* Carry out a wide range of clinical skills, including areas of specialist clinical expertise and advice within the team (e.g., infection control).
* Take an active part in leadership, education, development and supervision of the team.
Qualifications and requirements
* Band 5 staff Nurse (12 month temporary contract) with the ability to cover maternity leave.
* Experience within orthopaedics is not essential but preferable due to it covering maternity leave.
* An experienced health care professional competent in all aspects of care planning and able to carry out a wide range of clinical skills and provide advice within the team.
* Flexible and able to work various days (Monday to Friday) and adapt to service needs.
