Are you a compassionate and experienced educator with a passion for making a difference? Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated Alternative Provision Tutor to support a young person transitioning into Year 6, currently working at a Year 3 level in Maths and English.
About the Learner:
At risk of permanent exclusion (PEX)
Presents with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs
Can become emotionally dysregulated
Requires a calm, positive, and trauma-informed approach
Needs a trusting, consistent relationship with a supportive adultAbout you:
Minimum 1 year of experience in UK schools as a TA, SEN TA, Cover Supervisor, Teacher, SENCO, or similar
Experience supporting learners with SEMH needs
Skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies
Patient, empathetic, and able to build rapport and trustPosition - Alternative Provision Tutor
Contract or position start date - ASAP
Contract or position end date (if applicable) - N/A
Full time/part-time - Opportunities for both
Hours - 12 Hours per week- for the right candidate, this can be increased to full time with additional tuition opportunities
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
Trauma-informed and skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies- Desirable
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
