Overview
Join to apply for the Ward Manager, Falcon Ward role at the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Falcon Ward is a fast-paced general surgical ward (31 beds) caring for emergency and elective surgical patients' pre- and post-op. The ward operates with a strong MDT and Allied Health Professional support teams following a Foundation Trust model focused on patient care. The post holder will work to provide training and development opportunities, support NHS Pension, and access to on-site wellbeing and childcare provisions.
We are looking for a dynamic leader who can provide clinical and operational leadership to ensure a high standard of holistic, patient-centred care.
Responsibilities
 * To work according to the NMC Code of Conduct and other professional guidelines
 * To be accountable for the twenty four hour care delivery and management of the ward, including the supervision of students
 * To provide a clear focus for clinical leadership and to be responsible for ensuring the provision of a high standard of holistic, patient-centred care
 * To be accountable for co-ordinating patient care, the management of resources and performance of staff
 * To be responsible and accountable for the Finance and Human Resources issues directly related to the ward /department
 * To be responsible and accountable for the implementation of Audit, Quality and Risk Management initiatives
 * To promote and participate in the implementation of the ASPH Nursing & Midwifery strategy and Core Standards and contribute towards achieving the Trusts Top 10 Objectives
 * To maintain a visible presence in the ward /department, undertaking clinical work regularly (a minimum of 50% of contracted hours)
