About the role
Join a new team — the Pregnancy Anticipatory Care Service. The team will provide support for families across the city. It will be part of the Community Family Offer.
As a Maternity Health Advisor, you will empower pregnant people and families. You'll help them improve their health and wellbeing. You'll support and connect people with groups and services.
We're especially looking for
People who:
1. Identify as Black, Asian, or part of a minority ethnic group
2. Have experience of UK maternity care, especially as migrants or non-native English speakers
3. Understand challenges faced by families in deprived communities

What you'll be doing
✔ Listening and building trust
✔ Offering friendly advice on wellbeing
✔ Making home visits
✔ Helping with things like housing, finances, loneliness or caring responsibilities
✔ Co-creating support plans
✔ Connecting people to groups and services
✔ Promoting belonging and confidence
✔ Taking referrals from maternity services
✔ Working in multi-disciplinary teams
✔ Referring people to health professionals when needed
✔ Understanding safeguarding
✔ Following up to ensure continued support
