Overview
The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) invites applications for a 12‑month fixed‑term Foundation Year 2 (FY2) Doctor position in the General Surgery team.
Shift Pattern
Monday to Friday rota with out‑of‑hours and on‑call commitment.
Responsibilities
* Participate in out‑of‑hours and HDU rota, supporting acute and elective general surgery patients.
* Assist with theatre work, including operating lists and a monthly supervised minor operations list.
* Contribute to research, teaching and a supervised Quality Improvement (QI) project.
* Teach undergraduate and postgraduate learners through the weekly surgical teaching programme, surgical skills club, and monthly audit meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
* Hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
* Completed at least FY1 training and a UK foundation programme within 3.5 years of the advertised post start date (or provide a Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training).
* Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a busy multidisciplinary team.
* Commitment to professional development.
