Canteen Manager
Location: Llanidloes
Reports to: Site Director
Purpose: Undertake all tasks within the canteen to ensure a high‑quality service to all staff across the site.
Key Responsibilities
* Ordering of stock including raising/receipting PO’s on SAP
* End of day / week / month accounts
* Review menus and suggest improvements
* Prepare and cook food
* Maintain compliance documentation to ensure compliance with legislation
* Lead onsite events such as summer BBQ and staff Christmas dinner
* Work with suppliers to minimise spend while ensuring quality menu offering
* Identify ways to maximise footfall (e.g., theme days)
* Participate in on‑site engagement activities (e.g., Free Breakfast Friday’s, charity fundraising)
* Stock taking and product rotation
* Serve food and beverages
* Collect monies and operate cash till
* Cash up at the end of the shift
* Clean kitchen equipment, worktops, tables and floors
* Open/Close canteen and manage shift start/end
* Report faults for rapid resolution to avoid downtime and stock loss
* Develop new menu ideas including buffet options
* Provide buffets/refreshments for on‑site meetings
* Comply with company health and safety standards, maintain clean work areas
* Comply with food hygiene, COSHH and HACCP guidelines
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
* Up to date with relevant legislation affecting staff catering facilities
* Previous management experience
* Experience running a canteen kitchen
* Good verbal, written and numerical skills
* Well organised
* Team player
* Self‑motivated
* Friendly individual focused on customer service
* Good PC skills
* Coaching and mentoring
* Experience with social media activities
