An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Highways Operations Maintenance Team for a Drainage Operative.
About the job
The core function of this front-line role is to keep the highway free from surface water by undertaking routine planned and reactive gulley cleaning operations. This includes flushing/empting gullies and clearing their connections of silt deposits, debris, and obstructions.
You will also deal with a variety of drainage-related problems associated with land drainage, sewers, and pumping stations.
What We Are Looking For From You
1. Numerate and literate to GCSE standard or equivalent.
2. Experience of dealing with the general public and good communication skills.
3. Full valid driving licence and HGV Cat C License.
