We’re looking for
a talented Operations Manager on the night shift to join us on a full-time, permanent basis. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, 15:00-00:00, with flexibility to work any 5 from 7. To manage our Tesco operations at our Widnes depot. You’ll be leading your team to ensure overnight – time critical service levels are maintained whilst ensuring that the 350 assets are constantly compliant.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £40,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 33 days’ holiday inclusive of bank holidays as there’s a requirement to work bank holidays on this 24/7 account. What you’ll do on a typical day:
1. Management of 14 office colleagues and 210 ungraded colleagues (excluding agency) plus subcontractors
2. Manage the overall operation of the depot on a night-to-night basis ensuring that agreed targets are achieved in line with business and customer requirements.
3. Monitor planning and dispatch performance and make decisions to protect Customer Service
4. Ensure the Site is legally compliant by ensuring correct processes are in place, have an owner and are monitored.
5. Ensure reporting deadlines are met for both Financial and Compliance requirements.
6. Proactively promote a health & safety culture
7. Support & encourage a good team working spirit and ensure that the transport team work effectively with the Planning team and communicate frequently to achieve the business objectives
8. Follow all HR requirements in relation to disciplinary, absence management and return to work situations
9. Maximise the potential of new employees by ensuring their operational and psychological engagement and their continual development within the business.
10. Ensure appropriate understanding to enable individuals to meet their role requirements and to create involvement and engagement through two-way communication mechanisms.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
11. Understanding of key operational cost drivers and P&L or cost centre management
12. Great People Management and Leadership skills
13. A track record of resolving complex issues and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
14. Experience supervising or managing a team in a complex logistics transport environment
