Overview
Biomedical Scientist position in the Biochemistry Department at Ross Hall Hospital, Glasgow. Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, shift pattern including early, late and on-call duties (weekends on a rotational basis).
Responsibilities
* Deliver a fit-for-purpose medical laboratory service through delegated tasks and high professional standards.
* Be part of the day-to-day running of the Clinical Biochemistry/Haematology and BT sections, providing high-quality service to service users.
* Work with state-of-the-art Roche automation and contribute to a portfolio of routine testing.
* Collaborate with specialist hub laboratories at Manchester and The Halo to ensure high-quality patient care.
* Support servicing of Biochemistry, Haematology, BT and Microbiology pathology needs for Ross Hall Hospital, Kings Park Hospital (Stirling) and Braehead Clinic.
* Operate within a UKAS-accredited laboratory and as part of an HCPC/IBMS training laboratory for registration and specialist portfolios.
Qualifications
* HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist.
* Experience in Clinical Biochemistry/Haematology and BT environments is desirable.
Contract and Location
Location: Ross Hall Hospital, 221 Crookston Road, Glasgow, G52 3NQ. Contract type: Full-time (37.5 hours per week). Salary: Up to £41,000 DOE.
