Process & General Operator – Manufacturing
Location: Glasgow (manufacturing site);Thales is hiring in the UK and seeking individuals who can contribute to high-quality components powering our technology solutions. You will work on secondary manufacturing processes to ensure products meet quality, cost, and schedule targets.
What You’ll Do
* Perform essential secondary operations on machined components, including sub-assembly, mechanical and hand finishing, protective coatings, and non-destructive testing.
* Join a collaborative team and actively support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and quality.
* Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering teams to maintain safety and efficiency standards.
* Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace to ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment.
* Take ownership of production records and work independently when required.
* Provide flexibility to cover other areas across the facility as needed.
* Engage in career development through regular reviews and training within a global technology leader.
Who You Are
* GCSEs in Mathematics, English, Science, and Technology (Grade C or above).
* Reliable, motivated team player who takes pride in quality work and initiative.
* Ideally some hands-on experience in mechanical finishing, assembly, protective coatings, or non-destructive testing.
* Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions; interest in Lean manufacturing and business improvement practices.
* Flexible and adaptable, open to shift work and supporting activities across Thales sites.
