Overview
An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a talented Chef to work in an exceptional care home based in the Woodbridge, Suffolk area. You will be working for one of UK’s leading healthcare providers. This special service specialises in a range of care services, including: residential care, respite care, dementia care and convalescence care.
Responsibilities
* Undertake menu planning in consultation with residents and Manager
* Oversee and participate in the preparation and cooking and serving of all food in accordance with agreed menus
* Ensure menus are displayed showing choices
* Ensure individuals on special diets or with specific cultural needs are catered for and that choice is also available
* Check quantity and quality of stock and order items in accordance with the catering manual
* Supervise the kitchen employee team
* Ensure HACCP’s processes and the catering manual are followed and recorded as required
* Ensure that food expenditure is kept within budget in consultation with the Bursar and/or Home Manager
Qualifications and preferences
* NVQ Level 2-3 in Food preparation and catering (necessary to be considered)
* Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting
* Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
* Knowledge of nutrition and the ability to develop menus that meet dietary requirements
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage time effectively and work efficiently under pressure
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures
* Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff
Salary and benefits
The successful Chef will receive an excellent salary of £15.00 per hour. This is a permanent full-time role working through days. Benefits include:
