Offer description

Undertake high-quality, evidence-based mental health and neurodevelopmental assessments (including for ASD andADHD) that contribute to diagnostic decisions and inform management plans, in line with NICE guidelines.

Provide individual and group-based therapeutic interventions where indicated, supporting children, young people and theirfamilies.

Maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with CAMHS colleagues, primary care providers, andexternal agencies to ensure coordinated care and support for service users.

Participate in service evaluations, audits, and policy development, while also mentoring students, contributing to teamtraining plans, and engaging in ongoing professional development.


Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for delivering holistic, evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions for children andyoung people, particularly those with neurodevelopmental conditions such as ASD and ADHD.

The post holder will undertake holistic neurodevelopmental assessments and collaboratively develop management plans withservice users, ensuring care is tailored to individual needs. They will deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions whereappropriate and actively involve children, young people, and their families in the assessment and support process. Drawing onexpert knowledge of neurodevelopmental and mental health care, the practitioner will provide high-quality treatment and contributeto positive outcomes.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification


Qualifications and Knowledge

* Registered Healthcare Professional with current registration
* Professional qualifications and skills must complement the multi-disciplinary and skill mix of the Team
* Sound clinical knowledge of the current evidence base relevant to the area of practice
* Additional training in one or more evidence based psychological therapy relevant to the CAMHS or ND context.
* Foundational knowledge of evidence-based therapies and willingness to undertake further training as required


Experience

* Evidence of achievement in clinical practice within the area of speciality e.g. ND, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, CAMHS
* Experience of managing own caseload and/or time working independently
* Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Experience of working with individuals with neuro-developmental presentations.
* Experience of delivering psychological interventions
* Experience of meeting agreed/specified service targets


Skills and Attributes

* Clinical assessment and formulation skills
* Organisational ability and time management skills
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work within a team and foster good working relationships
* Teaching and presentation skills
* Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh)

* Satisfactory Enhanced DBS clearance including Children's Barred List check
* Ability to be independently mobile to meet the requirements of the post
