Legal Counsel – Renewable Energy Sector

We are delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation in the renewable energy sector to recruit a Legal Counsel. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced business that is driving innovation and sustainability.
About the Role
As Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Legal and providing expert legal advice across the business. Your focus will include commercial contracts (such as PPAs and optimisation agreements), corporate matters, M&A, and funding projects. You will also assist with compliance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the legal delivery of commercial projects, including M&A, sales, and funding.
* Manage legal and contractual due diligence processes.
* Draft, negotiate, and review PPAs (including cPPAs and RtMPPAs) and optimisation agreements.
* Provide corporate support, including drafting board notes and minutes.
* Advise on CfDs, capacity market issues, and other ad hoc agreements.
* Liaise with external legal providers and internal teams.
* Maintain precedent contracts and assist with compliance and risk management.
About You
* Qualified Solicitor with strong commercial experience, with circa 5 years PQE.
* Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage a varied workload.
* Excellent communication skills and commercially aware.
* Experience in the renewable energy sector and/or in-house legal teams is desirable.
