Our client is currently looking for an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their Thames Valley regional office. The organization is in a very interesting position currently, with regions being restructured to become more efficient and ultimately more productive, creating a better working environment for everyone.
Key responsibilities:
* Cost Planning
* Preparing various tender packages and the subsequent analysis and selection/tender recommendation process
* Procurement
* Preparing and compiling contract documents
* Contract administration
* Negotiation
* Management and coordination of contractors
* Controlling variations on a project and reporting variances in costs
* Preparation and issuing of interim valuations
* Assist with final accounts
* Liaising with Contractors and Consultants
* Working with Project Managers to ensure all actions are met for the various projects
* Working with Interior designers regarding their budgets and ensuring these are met
* Presenting budgets / Cost Plans to the team
* Produce cash flows and keep them up to date
* Assist the Construction Manager with monthly reporting
* Assist in the settlement of construction disputes
* Visiting the sites regularly
Requirements:
* Experience working with construction contracts and the requirements of a working site
* A degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with colleagues throughout the organization and externally
* Willingness to be flexible: the ideal candidate must be happy to work additional hours as required depending on the project stage and deadlines
* Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced, personality-driven environment
