About the role:
Our Financial Services Tax deals team works closely with our Deals practice to advise on the tax implications of a wide variety of deals involving financial services firms. This includes providing tax advice on mergers & acquisitions, IPOs, and refinancing/restructuring of previous transactions.
We are looking for a senior individual to join our FS Tax deals team as an FS Mergers and Acquisition tax specialist. As part of our wider FS Tax practice, you will also have the opportunity to work on complex international tax structuring/advisory projects outside a deals context.
Our client base is truly international and we pride ourselves on the strength of our network. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with the most dynamic, multinational financial institutions in the world, including private equity firms, banks, insurers, fintech groups, securities broker/dealers, and asset & wealth managers.
What your days will look like:
1. Leading teams to deliver bespoke, commercially focused tax advice in a fast-paced and evolving international deals market. This will include transactions for private equity clients acquiring FS businesses, but may also include FS corporate transactions.
2. Responsibility for establishing and maintaining relationships as a trusted advisor, and for ensuring successful delivery and management of projects, including seeking opportunities to deliver and enhance value for new and existing clients, in particular identifying and pursuing post-deal value add opportunities.
3. Developing your internal network to draw upon specialist input on tax and non-tax matters in connection with transactions.
4. Supporting the FS Tax deals leadership team in setting strategy and developing less experienced team members, including training, coaching and mentoring.
5. Being agile and open minded in your approach to new challenges and seek opportunities to enhance project delivery through new technologies.
This role is for you if:
6. You have an enquiring mind and clear, demonstrable examples of providing clients with solutions as part of a diverse team.
7. You're skilled in leading teams on M&A transactions, including due diligence and structuring for private equity transactions, and you have experience of project managing multiple projects to tight deadlines.
8. You have a proven track record of building internal and external relationships and networks, both within the UK and overseas and developed communication skills, specifically in negotiating with and influencing others.
9. You have strong analytical, project management and report writing skills.
What you'll receive from us:
No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions.
We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
