Salary: Grade 7 (NJC scale points 19 - 23) £28,731 - £30,858
Contract: Permanent, 36 hours, term time plus 5 days
Start date: September 2026

Moorside High School, part of Consilium Academies, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Head of Year to join our pastoral team. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in shaping the experiences, wellbeing and success of our students within a vibrant, inclusive and supportive school community.

About the Role

As Head of Year, you will:

* Lead and support a team of Form Tutors
* Promote high standards of attendance, behaviour and achievement
* Provide pastoral care, guidance and intervention for students
* Build strong relationships with families, staff and external agencies
* Lead assemblies, year group initiatives and student support strategies
* Help create a positive and inclusive culture where every student can succeed


What We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone who:

* Has excellent communication and organisational skills
* Can motivate and inspire young people
* Is calm, resilient and solution-focused
* Has experience working with young people and families
* Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing

Experience within a school or pastoral setting is highly desirable.
