Help Shape the Future of Childhood, and the Wellbeing of People and Planet.
A rare opportunity to grow, learn, and make a lasting impact.
Who we Are
:
Spiral is a new organisation (charity application pending) which aims, by working with children and families, to address some of the precipitating and often interlinked causes of poor mental health, fragmented community and ecological breakdown.
The founder has developed a new model of childcare for parents with children under 5, the furtherance of which is the initial focus of the charity. The aim is to shift the cultural conditions of early childhood. Borrowing from ancient wisdom and the human developmental niche, our aim is to return to a form of care that human infants and children evolved to need for healthy brain and body development. Hence, the 'Spiral' model brings together collaborative parental care ("it takes a village to raise a child") with support from a holistic infant development specialist in a real-world environment – with a strong focus on connection to nature, self-sufficiency and building strong attachment relationships. The intention of our work is to build resilience – allowing citizens of the future to gain a deeper sense of security in themselves and their humanity, their place in nature, and their role in shaping the future of the earth.
