A System Transformed: Nurse Director Roles Across NHS Tayside
Band: Agenda for Change – Band 8D
Type: Full Time | Permanent
Location: Dundee and Angus
Reporting to: Director of Health and Social Care Partnership (operational) & Executive Nurse Director, NHS Tayside (professional)
Two Senior Posts. One Coordinated Restructure. A Rare Opportunity to Shape the Future of Nursing Leadership in NHS Tayside.
NHS Tayside is embarking on a bold transformation—placing clinical leadership at the heart of a system that is refreshed, restructured, and ready for change. As part of this, we are excited to announce the coordinated recruitment of two Nurse Directors across our Health and Social Care Partnerships in Dundee and Angus.
These are not routine vacancies. They are a direct outcome of a strategic redesign of our senior nursing structure, and they mark a unique opportunity to join NHS Tayside at a pivotal moment—strengthening the leadership fabric of both our HSCPs and our corporate nursing team.
If you’re an experienced and strategic nurse leader with a passion for transformation and a track record of system-wide impact, this is your moment to step into a role that shapes services, strategy, and population health across an entire region.
The Opportunities
We Are Recruiting To The Following Transformational Roles
Nurse Director – Dundee HSCP
Join a progressive, integrated city partnership focused on equity, innovation, and tackling health inequalities. Provide senior nursing leadership to a mature, ambitious system and shape NHS Tayside-wide work in palliative care and population health.
Nurse Director – Angus HSCP
Lead across a locality with a strong integrated care foundation, dynamic community networks, and opportunities for innovation in rural and primary care redesign. You’ll help influence models of sustainable care across Tayside.
System Impact. Local Leadership. Dual Influence.
Each Postholder Will
* Be a core member of the HSCP Senior Leadership Team, jointly shaping local strategy, influencing key decisions, and delivering against locality and national priorities.
* Be a corporate nursing leader, working closely with NHS Tayside’s Executive Nurse Director and fellow NMHAP Directors to set direction, drive governance, and embed shared values across the system.
* Hold a defined corporate nursing portfolio aligned to your experience and NHS Tayside’s strategic goals.
* Contribute to once-for-Tayside leadership programmes and support innovation across geographical boundaries.
This dual role—both locality-focused and system-oriented—is what makes these Nurse Director roles both unique and powerful.
