Mission description
To lead and manage the Configuration Management (CM) function at Safran Electrical & Power UK Ltd, ensuring control of engineering data and product configurations. The role is both strategic and operational combining leadership of a small team with direct responsibility for configuration management across a defined portfolio of products and programmes. It supports the company's engineering transformation goals under the ADVANCE initiative. Lead, mentor, and manage the CM team and its contribution to engineering programmes Act as Configuration Manager for allocated product portfolio, ensuring full lifecycle control Define, maintain, and deliver the Configuration Management Roadmap at site and in co-ordination at divisional level Ensure Configuration Management Plans exist and are maintained for all key products Drive consistent and effective use of PLM/ALM systems across the site Support implementation of CM practices aligned to divisional standards and digital strategies Provide CM reporting and insights to support engineering KPIs and ADVANCE objectives Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to embed robust CM governance
Proven experience in configuration management in aerospace or regulated industries Experience managing teams and leading cross-functional initiatives Strong knowledge of PLM/ALM tools Windchill preferred Familiarity with standards such as ISO 10007, EIA-649, ARP4754 Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver against strategic objectives Engineering degree or demonstrable equivalent experience (e.g. through apprenticeship, military, or career transition pathways).
