Job Description
As the Payroll Manager, you will oversee the processing of wages for approximately six hundred employees, including administration of timesheets, maintaining employee records and being a direct contact for payroll queries. Your role consists of leading the payroll operations.\n\nThe ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, maintain compliance with all national legislation, ensure our client is ‘audit ready’ and provide excellent service to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries.\n\nDuties and responsibilities:\n\nManage and oversee all aspects of payroll operations for c600 employees across the UK.\nProcess two payroll cycles on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.\nMaintain payroll records and ensure systems are up- to-date with personnel changes, including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay or benefits.\nEnsure compliance with national laws and regulations.\n\nPrepare and submit all necessary payroll tax filings and reports.\nReconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.\nWork closely with HR and Finance to align payroll with benefits, deductions, and budget planning.\nLead payroll audits and support external/internal audit requirements.\nIdentify and implement improvements to payroll processes and systems.\nTrain and supervise payroll staff.\n\nExperience and Skills\n\nDemonstrable experience in payroll administration, with supervisory or managerial experience within your role.\n\nStrong knowledge of payroll software.\nFamiliarity with payroll tax regulations and employment laws.\nHigh diligence and strong analytical skills.\n\nExcellent organisational and time management\nabilities.\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred but not essential.\nEffective communication and people skills.\nCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.\n\nBenefits- this role comes with a range of benefits for you and your family
