We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contracting background to oversee commercial performance across infrastructure projects in NW. You will be a key member of the team working hybrid and remotely with intermittent site visits ensuring subcontractors quotations and payments are constantly reviewed, reporting to the Commercial Head. The perfect candidate will have experience in driving project profitability in line with NEC 4 contract principles.
Summary of your role:
- Review of sub-contractor quotations and placement of any orders
- Tracking and optimizing costs within operational teams to ensure financial efficiency.
- Projecting cash flow and sales forecasts to support financial planning.
- Preparing and submitting monthly payment applications to maintain cash flow.
- Hands-on experience with the NEC contract change control process, including Preparing and implementing Early Warnings (EWs), managing Compensation Events (CEs) and preparing CE quotations
- Adhering to contractual timeframes and procedures
- Participating in both internal and external meetings to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Advocating and ensuring safe working practices within the commercial team.
What we require from you?
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying
- 3 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor ideally for a Tier 1 main contractor
- Proven track record (minimum 3 years) in administering NEC3/4 contracts, with a focus on ECC Main Option A.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proficient user of MS packages - Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Previous BPSS Clearance - desirable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Rate will be £400 - £450 per day (negotiable).
