This role is based on the DCP Customer site (c. 48 People) and is key to delivering the DCP contract. Our Airwave Network team ensures that critical blue light Airwave Radio services are delivered to end users. The team conducts site visits to resolve incidents and maintain services, requiring strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
The main responsibilities of the Airwave Radio Professional include performing preventative maintenance and audits of Police vehicles and desktop radios, conducting EMC tests for new Airwave installations necessary for vehicles to enter operational service, fault identification and rectification to module level, and assisting with the Airwave Joiner, Mover, and Leaver (JML) processes and Equipment Requests.
For Joiners, this entails configuring, programming, and issuing Airwave terminals and accessories within SLA for new staff. For Movers, responsibilities include obtaining authorization for requested changes, creating programming batches to reconfigure terminals, and liaising with end users to implement changes. For Leavers, the role involves verifying if a terminal was issued and recovering equipment if applicable. Proficiency in Sepura Radio Manager (RM2), Asset Manager Enterprise (AME), TETRA Gateway, and Airwave Solutions SMT and CCM platforms is required. Additionally, the role involves managing incident and request work queues, monthly reporting, and stock management.
