The job itself
Female applicants wanted to work with a 6-year-old girl with a rare condition that causes mobility difficulties. They have access to a wheelchair. They also have a diagnosis of autism, ADHD and a mild learning disability.
This young girl is very sociable and loves to be the centre of attention and is known to make individuals around them smile. They adore singing, dancing and other forms of dramatic showmanship.
They enjoy imaginative play and have a keen sense of creativity, they also enjoy trampolining, swimming and trips to local play parks.
They also enjoy spending time with pet like animals and an affinity for dogs.
Due to this young persons needs, they have no danger awareness for roads so needs supervision in the community for their safety. This young person also requires support with their self-care due to their needs and ability to maintain attention on a task.
The applicant will need to be very patient and have an experience of working with SEN needs. A driver is also preferred.
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Encouraging the recipient to engage in activities.
2. Helping to improve their social skills.
3. Settling and supporting the individual.
4. Keeping them safe in the community.
5. Helping to fulfil their potential and aspirations.
6. Attending/transporting the individual to social activities and appointments.
7. Encouraging social interaction and inclusion and providing emotional support.
8. Female staff required due to possible of intimate personal care being required.

10. Be patient, caring and understanding.
11. Be able to build a positive relationship with the child to both encourage and support them.
12. Be flexible to meet the needs of the family.
13. Have knowledge of working with or supporting a child with special needs.
