Health Care Support Worker School Nursing (Welsh Essential)
This is a fixed term/secondment vacancy until 31/12/2027, working 22.5 hours per week term‑time only. The role is part of the Ceredigion School Nursing team within the larger Children’s Health services at the Hywel Dda University Health Board. The main duties include visiting schools for the Child Measurement Programme, supporting immunisation and health education, managing administrative tasks and preparing documentation for the CMP.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out visits to schools, weighing and measuring children and young people as part of the CMP.
* Plan, organise and prioritise own workload, accepting direction from higher level staff.
* Exercise good judgement, tact and discretion when dealing with patient inquiries and providing basic non‑clinical advice.
* Support administrative staff with office duties such as photocopying, faxing, printing and filing.
* Prepare relevant documentation for the CMP, including consent forms.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent.
* Childcare experience (voluntary or paid).
* Experience working in a caring environment and awareness of Child Protection Procedures.
Desirable Skills
* Ability to use office software programmes.
* Experience using the CH 2000 computer programme or equivalent.
* Experience of working in a caring environment.
Language Requirements
* Welsh speaker Level 3 – essential.

Salary: £25,313 to £26,999 a year pro‑rata
