Systems Engineer Heathrow/Manchester About the Role We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join a fast-paced, high-performing environment within the aviation technology sector. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with stakeholders to define solution requirements and technical specifications Install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system tools on-site Support system design, development, and deployment in partnership with Solution Architects Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and work with developers to implement fixes Manage product requirements, prevent scope creep, and support change control processes Produce technical documentation, operational guides, and training materials in line with QA standards Research and evaluate new technologies to improve system performance and reliability Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and development of best practices Work across multiple projects simultaneously in diverse global environments Support pre-sales and future business opportunities where required Requirements Degree in Engineering or a related technical field (e.g. IT, Computer Systems, Systems Engineering) Experience in systems development or integration projects, ideally within real-time or mission-critical environments Hands-on experience with Windows and UNIX/Linux environments Experience with virtualisation tools (VMWare, Hyper-V) Experience installing and configuring Linux on Hyper-V Strong networking knowledge (OSI model, TCP/IP, switches, firewalls, routers) Understanding of software development and project management methodologies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills Additional Information Hybrid position - 2/3 days on-site Ability to travel across different sites including: London Heathrow, Manchester, Farnborough (expenses covered) Travel primarily within the UK, with occasional international travel (Europe) If interested, then please apply today!
